The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to get underway on Friday, with fans able to snap up tickets for the popular T20 cricket competition.

Tickets can be purchased online through vendors such as BookMyShow and Paytm Insider. In order to book tickets through the online platforms, fans need to select the city in which they want to watch a match and select the games they wish to attend.

For those unable to book tickets online, fans can try their luck at the physical ticket offices located at stadiums. These counters are due to open a day before the match but availability will be limited.

Teams have different partnerships with both BookMyShow and Paytm Insider. Fans wishing to purchase tickets to watch the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium can buy tickets through the BookMyShow portal, while Chennai Super Kings fans can go through Paytm Insider to buy tickets for games at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Those wishing to buy tickets to watch the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium can buy tickets from the Paytm Insider online portal. Rajasthan Royals fans can purchase tickets for matches at Sawai Mansingh Stadium through BookMyShow, while those wanting to buy tickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium can go through the team’s official website.

Fans that would like to buy tickets to watch the Kolkata Knight Riders, which play home matches at Eden Gardens Stadium, can go through BookMyShow. Sunrisers Hyderabad tickets for matches at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium can be bought through Paytm Insider.

Punjab Kings tickets can be purchased through the team’s own website and the Paytm Insider portal. The Punjab Kings’ home matches take place at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium. Lucknow Super Giants’ home ground is Ekana Sports City Stadium and tickets can be bought through Paytm Insider.

Gujarat Titans fans can buy tickets for matches at Narendra Modi Stadium through Paytm Insider.

The Titans partnered with Paytm earlier this month.

Varun Khare, business head, Paytm Insider, said: “Cricket is a beloved sport around the world, and its popularity has only continued to grow over the years especially with IPL. It is a game that brings people together and creates a sense of community among the fans around the world.

“As exclusive ticketing partners for a majority of the teams this season, we’ve got our A-team in place to work with each of these franchises to create the best possible flow for consumers to engage with their preferred teams across tickets, merchandise, information and much more.

“Moreover, we’re also working with these teams to ensure that we can be ever accessible and will complement our online sales efforts with select on ground outlets where fans can purchase their tickets.”
