Petrol stations in Germany are set to be the surprise backdrop for concert, sport and entertainment ticket sales, thanks to a collaboration between consumption-on-the-go specialist Lekkerland, ticketing and live entertainment provider CTS Eventim and prepaid and payment provider Epay.

The partnership has resulted in a digital ticketing solution that enables the nationwide sale of tickets across music, sports and cultural events at petrol stations. Fans will be able to purchase tickets through a digital kiosk, iKiosk, which Lekkerland and Epay have worked on together for a number of years.

Alongside vouchers and gift cards, tickets for concerts, sports and other events can now be added.

Consumers can select their event and seat, reserve their ticket and receive a printed payment form. This is then paid for at the cash desk of the petrol station, with the event ticket sent to the customer digitally by email following the payment.

Veith Huxohl, head of product management and marketing corporate at Lekkerland, said: “For gas station stores, ticket sales are a great addition to the offering and a logical development step towards becoming a multi-service hub in the region.”

Karsten Elbrecht, chief commercial officer, ticketing Germany, at CTS Eventim, said: “Having gas stations on board as additional distribution channel to offer our extensive ticket portfolio through is a real win in the field of digital value-added services with attractive revenue potential.”

Maik Süssemilch, director of branded and mobile payments, store services, at Epay, added: “We are very pleased to be able to implement the ticketing solution – which was introduced with CTS Eventim 2022 and has been tested several times on the market – at our long-standing partner Lekkerland using our secure payment infrastructure and technology.”
