The second phase, which is dedicated to the sale of individual tickets for specific events, opened on May 11, and tickets for more than half the Olympic sports had sold out by the time it closed at the end of the following day.

In total, 1.5 million single tickets, covering more than 700 competition sessions, went on sale through the official Paris 2024 ticketing platform for phase two, with around 300,000 priced at €24. The tickets were open to around four million people who had registered beforehand.

The sports that sold out included urban sports such as skateboarding, sport climbing, 3×3 basketball and breaking, which makes its debut on the Olympic programme in the Place de la Concorde.

All cycling disciplines, equestrian sessions and aquatics disciplines of artistic swimming, marathon swimming and diving also sold out. Fans also bought up all the sessions from the sports of fencing, triathlon, modern pentathlon, shooting, race walking and rhythmic gymnastics.

Among the tickets that were available to purchase in phase two were those for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and the most sought-after competition finals.

The 1.5 million tickets sold in phase two add to the 3.25 million that were sold to people in 158 different countries during phase one.

In total, 10 million tickets will be on sale across all the phases, with 80 per cent sold directly to the general public. One million of these tickets are priced at just EUR 24, and almost half are priced at EUR 50 or less, reflecting Paris 2024’s commitment to hosting accessible and affordable Games, in line with its “Games Wide Open” slogan.

The remaining 20 per cent of tickets are being sold through On Location, the IOC and Paris 2024’s official hospitality supplier, and to Paris 2024 stakeholders.

A third ticket sales phase is scheduled for the end of 2023, when 3.5 million more tickets will be available, with a resale platform set to open in spring 2024.

The Olympic Games Paris 2024 will take place between 26 July and 11 August, with the Paralympic Games then taking place from 28 August until 8 September. Tickets for Paralympic Games sessions will be sold separately, without a draw, with sales beginning in autumn 2023.
