Singapore is to welcome immersive experience Sensory Odyssey to the ArtScience Museum at the start of its world tour following a successful Paris debut.

The multi-sensory exhibition, which features video, sound and scent, will be held at the museum that is located within the integrated resort of Marina Bay Sands from May 27 to October 29. Its premiere was staged at France’s National Museum of Natural History in 2022.

Sensory Odyssey is designed to provide visitors with a unique, immersive experience of the beauty and diversity of the living world.

Organised by ArtScience Museum and BASE Entertainment Asia, the exhibition was created by Sensory Odyssey Studio in collaboration with the French National Museum of Natural History in Paris and International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF). The 2023 Asian premiere of this exhibition at ArtScience Museum marks the first stop on a global tour.

“We are very excited to partner with IFF. The exclusive scents used in this exhibition help sense the world, shifting our perceptions of the living world,” said Gwenael Allan, creator, co-founder and chief executive of Sensory Odyssey Studio.

Sensory Odyssey proposes a one-of-a-kind immersion into the natural world, where IFF-curated scents play a key role in making the experience both complete and surprisingly vivid. From the animalic, lion-infused fragrance of the savannah to the cold, almost metallic scents of ice floes, to the humid and green rainforest to the spring-like, floral notes of the prairies, visitors may tour nature.

“At IFF, we believe in the power of scent to awaken the extraordinary senses,” said Ramon Brentan, IFF Scent Asia regional general manager. “We are proud to be a key stakeholder in the Sensory Odyssey and unveil the beauty of the natural world through scents.”
