The Society of London Theatre’s Kids Week initiative, which sees children aged 17 and under being able to attend a show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult, is set to return this August.

Throughout the month, children will be able to watch over 45 top West End shows for free with an adult paying full price, with an additional two children able to attend for half price. Booking fees have also been waived.

Tickets will go on sale on June 13 via the Official London Theatre platform.

There are 24 new productions available as part of the scheme for the first time, including Ain’t Too Proud, Blippi: The Wonderful Tour, Mrs. Doubtfire, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, The SpongeBob Musical and The Wizard Of Oz.

These productions have been added alongside established Kids Week favourites such as Disney’s Frozen, Grease The Musical, Les Misérables, Disney’s The Lion King, Mamma Mia, RSC’s Matilda The Musical and more.

Alongside the performances, there will also be a wide range of free activities for Kids Week ticket-holders. ‘Kids Week Curtain Calls’ will see all Kids Week bookers able to stay for post-show Q&As or a demonstration after the show has finished. There will also be more show-specific offerings such as dance and musical theatre workshops and backstage tours.

Those that have access requirements are able to complete the Access Priority Request Form before the general onsale. The form will be available from June 9 to June 11. Eligible bookers that have completed the form will then be contacted by the theatre box office on June 13.
