The move comes after Rangers and Celtic were originally due to meet in Sydney last November, in a game that would have seen the two rivals meet outside of Scotland’s borders for the first time. However, after backlash from fans, Rangers withdrew from the competition citing contractual breaches from TEG, according to the Daily Record.
TEG then hit back with a claim for ‘wrongful termination’, but the legal battle will no longer continue following the deal with Rangers.
The new partnership will see Rangers take part in TEG’s international match tournaments during the summers of 2024 through 2026, where the Scottish club does not participate in official FIFA or UEFA tournaments.
The deal will also enable Rangers and TEG to collaborate on commercial ventures including live music and entertainment, utilising the club’s new multi-purpose venue Edmiston House, which is located next to Ibrox Stadium.
The schedule and locations of events will be finalised over the coming months, with North America, the Middle East and Far East Asia earmarked as potential destinations for future Rangers international tours.
TEG Sport, which is owned by TEG, has worked with a number of clubs including LaLiga’s Real Madrid, the Premier League’s Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Serie A’s Inter Milan and Bundesliga club Bayern Munich across locations such as Australia, Singapore, Thailand, the US and the UK.

TEG Group CEO Geoff Jones added: “We are pleased to have a touring partnership with Rangers Football Club. This partnership ends the previous dispute between Rangers and TEG, as both organisations look forward to a collaborative and mutually beneficial commercial relationship in the years ahead.
