India will face Pakistan at the 132,000-capacity Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, in the group stage of the tournament.
Additional tickets were released yesterday (Sunday) as India won its first match against Australia by six wickets.
Yesterday’s match was met by anger from some India fans, as they continued to criticise the BCCI on ticketing for the World Cup.
Despite being the opening game for the host nation, seats at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium were empty during the beginning of the game.
It seems that many fans are arriving to watch matches much later, while others questioned who the tickets are going to and if this is affecting attendances.
India’s next match will be against Afghanistan at Delhi’s 41,842-capacity Arun Jaitley stadium.
