The event will take place at Cornbury Park, near Chipping Norton, after West Oxfordshire District Councillors approved an application for a premises licence. Cornbury Park is a 5,000-acre plot and was previously a royal hunting estate.
Held annually since 2011, last year’s festival welcomed performances from the likes of Fatboy Slim (pictured), Christine and the Queens, Sugababes, The Chemical Brothers and Arlo Parks.
This year’s event will take place between August 1-4, with headliners yet to be announced.
As reported by the BBC, Wilderness Festival representative Simon Taylor told the council meeting attendees: “We will work on our traffic management plan and noise management plan.”
The event takes place within the Cotswolds Arena of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK, with residents worried about traffic and noise.
A higher noise level will be allowed at this year’s festival at 65db, with a lower level of noise permitted after 02:00.
The festival attracts roughly 10,000 attendees each year.
