Concert and festival promoter FKP Scorpio has expanded its exhibition, family entertainment, comedy and spoken word business under the newly upgraded FKP Scorpio Entertainment (FKPE).
The new company structure will also include the rebranding of its previously incorporated Germany FKP Scorpio Show Creations company, which has now become part of the wider FKPE business model.
Headquartered in London, the international operation is set to be led by James Cassidy and Barry Campbell, who launched FKP Scorpio UK in 2018 with the BBC Studios Blue Planet II Live in Concert arena tour. FKPE was formed in 2022 to focus on exhibitions, family events and other special projects.
FKPE’s first project was in partnership with the Luna Entertainment Group, and was the 2023 award-winning Jurassic World: The Exhibition, which sold more than 314,000 tickets. The experience took place at the London ExCeL centre, with FKPE now securing an exclusive tenancy deal with the venue until 2027.
Cassidy and Campbell have taken on the roles of president of FKPE and senior promoter, respectively.
Additionally, Nathan Birch is set to join as head of ticketing, Daisy Parry will become special events coordinator and Suzy Bryant will take on the position of marketing consultant.
At present, FKPE is promoting the Semmel Exhibition Disney 100: The Exhibition, which has sold over 240,000 tickets and is set to run until June 23. FKPE will follow this experience with London and European-based iterations of Formula 1: The Exhibition.
“Barry and I love what we do, if it’s a quality exhibition, family event or special project, then we are prepared to put our necks on the line to deliver results,” said Cassidy.
“We hope that FKPE will become the first call for any global IP or event producers. Our FKP European teams have a wonderful network of offices and talented staff, so we hold no fear in presenting FKPE as the ultimate one stop UK and European solution for quality projects.”
Elsewhere, ‘Nordic Exhibitions’ based in the Swedish city of Norrkoping, will now form part of the FKP Scorpio Group and has been renamed FKP Scorpio Entertainment Nordic. It was founded by promoter and chief executive Stefan Papangelis in 2016, and has sold roughly 700,000 exhibition tickets across Scandinavian markets.
Under the new operation, Papangelis and his small team of four will work closely with Bozo Rasic, managing director of FKP Scorpio Sweden, and will report directly to FKPE London. As part of the acquisition, FKPE Nordic will be promoting exhibitions such as Jurassic Lego Brickman, Dino World and Van Gogh Alive, which opens in Sweden in the summer.
“It’s truly fantastic to be part of the FKPE family, a perfect fit for us and we really look forward to combining forces to make great successes in the Nordic markets and beyond,” said Papangelis.
In Germany, the non-music economy has been fuelled by success in comedy. FKP Scorpio has witnessed major growth in this area, under the leadership of promoter Thilo Elsnet and a team of two. Together, the team has promoted over 365 shows in the last two years, with more than 250,000 tickets sold.
UK comedy and spoken word promoter Ollie Catchpole has been brought in to join the new FKPE international team.
FKP Scorpio sold more than four million tickets across Europe in 2023.
