Growth capital investor BGF has invested €4m (£3.4m/$4.3m) into ticketing company Eventmaster.

Eventmaster states that the funding would help to accelerate its growth, with money set to go towards sales and marketing.

The company, which provides ticketing operations for around 3,000 events per year, is also looking to increase its workforce and expand its platform across the UK and Ireland.

“This investment from BGF marks a significant step forward,” said Eventmaster chief executive John Cleary.

“We have a great team within Eventmaster and an excellent existing client base. Now with BGF and Feargal Mooney as our new chairman we are well positioned to accelerate our growth. The future looks very bright and very exciting.”

Eventmaster was established in Ireland in 2017 and is based in Limerick, Ireland. It provides ticketing technology for events such as the Dublin Marathon, Cork City Marathon, Ring of Beara Cycle, and the Tour de Connemara.

As part of the deal, there will be two new additions to the board in the form of Fergal Mooney and Joe Higgins. They will take the roles of non-executive chairman and director, respectively.

“I am delighted to join Eventmaster as chairman at this exciting stage of its growth journey,” said Mooney.

“John and his team have developed a leading position in ticketing, registration and charity fundraising technology in Ireland, and I look forward to working with them, supported by BGF, to accelerate this growth and maximise their share of the opportunity both in the Irish market and beyond.”

Higgins added: “Eventmaster is one of the most impressive tech companies we have seen in the Irish market.

“Over the past 14 years they have carved out a leadership position in the Irish market and they have exciting plans for expansion here and further afield.”
