Thailand’s 2024 MotoGP event has piqued the interest of local fans, with 10,000 Grand Stand tickets snapped up in just over three minutes.
According to a report from the Bangkok Post, tickets sold out in minutes as the online sale began on Tuesday.
Tickets for the Thai Grand Prix are sold as three-day packages across four categories, with Side Stand and Brand Stand tickets costing 2,000 baht (£43) each, Rider Stand tickets setting fans back 3,000 baht, and Grand Stand tickets coming it at 5,000 baht.
In a press conference, Phonpoom Vipattipumiprates, Thailand’s Vice Minister for Tourism and Sports, said: “MotoGP in Thailand is a mega event and a major economic driver, something that is in line with our sport tourism policy.”
The fifth edition of the race will be held at Buri Ram’s Chang International Circuit from October 25-27.
Thailand’s PTG Energy became the title sponsor of the race last month, and PT Max Card Plus members will receive a 25% discount on tickets. PT Max Card Prestige and PT Max Card members will get 20% off.
Tickets can be purchased at 7-Eleven stores across Thailand, or online at allticket.com. Physical ticket redemption will start on August 19, running to October 10.
