DEAG has entered into a partnership with Black Mamba Event and Marketing as it looks to expand business activities in its festival segment.
Black Mamba is the organiser of electronic urban festival Sputnik Spring Break on the Pouch peninsula in Germany, located an hour north of Leipzig.
“With its extremely attractive location and open music programme, Sputnik Spring Break is one of the most successful festivals in East Germany and has been established for 15 years,” said DEAG chief executive Christian Diekmann.
“I am really looking forward to the intensive cooperation with our new partners, who will contribute a lot to the realisation of our goals and strategy in the festival sector through their experience and understanding.”
The German domestic market already has a large fanbase and leads the ranking of monthly electronic music listeners with 369 million.
In global terms, the electronic music industry recorded an increase of 17% to $11.8bn (£9.3bn/€11bn) in 2023.
“We are delighted to have found a strong cooperation partner in our segment in DEAG,” said Black Mamba managing director Rico Tietze.
“Together, we will continuously improve our festival for our guests and use the network within the Group featuring other strong festivals and the experienced team for further expansion.”
Group chief executive of DEAG Detleff Kornett added: “We have successfully and profitably implemented our growth strategy in the EDM festival segment since 2019.”
“The cooperation with Rico Tietze will enable us to leverage synergies throughout the Group and in various projects beyond Sputnik. This is the next big step for us at DEAG to strengthen our leading role in this segment.”
