Chesterfield has marked its return to the English Football League by appointing Ticketmaster as the club’s exclusive ticketing partner from the 2024-25 season.

Following six years of non-league football, the team finally secured promotion – roared on by record crowds at SMH Group Stadium. It will now play its football in League Two.

Ticketmaster will aid Chesterfield’s digitalisation of ticketing, which the club believes is particularly important for away games. Additionally, the “usability” of the system and reporting tools presented by Ticketmaster were crucial for Chesterfield signing the deal.

Chesterfield’s chief executive John Croot said that ticketing was “integral for the business” and that using Ticketmaster’s technology will be critical for the “better use of digital ticketing for away matches, as well as home fixtures”.

Croot added that Ticketmaster’s tools were “better suited to the needs of the club”.

On the overall deal, Croot commented: “Given the increased demand for tickets we have experienced, it was important that we found an effective solution to meet our ticketing requirements.

“We are delighted to be working with Ticketmaster Sport, a company with an excellent reputation that can deliver the level of service we require.”

The League Two season will begin on August 9, with Chesterfield opening its campaign at home against Swindon Town.
