AEG Presents has partnered with Portland-based concert promoter Monqui Presents to develop and operate a 4,250-capacity concert venue in the Oregon city.

Set to be based in the Lloyd District, the venue will offer flexible seating for between 2,000 to 4,250 attendees featuring a movable stage.

It is due to span around 68,000 square feet and will be situated at the former Nordstrom building site on NE Multnomah Street.

“This is a project we’ve been working on with Don Strasbourg and the AEG Presents team for about 10 years now – we have a great site, excellent design, and most importantly a shared vision in making the audience and artist experience a truly great one,” said co-owner of Monqui Presents Mike Quinn.

“We are extremely fortunate and excited about this partnership and thrilled to bring this venue to Portland.”

The venue’s location is said to ensure unparalleled convenience for fans as it is near to car parking facilities, easy access to light rail, streetcar lines, and a recently completed bridge for pedestrians and cyclists.

The site also falls under Portland’s CX zoning which facilitates the development without the need for special use permits.

It is claimed that the venue will have optimum acoustics and sightlines for fans and will accommodate for a range of musical genres.

“Mike and the whole Monqui team represent the fabric of Portland,” said Don Strasbourg who is overseeing the project as AEG Presents president of Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Northwest.

“We worked together to find the perfect site and designed the perfect venue – we are excited to deliver the city of Portland the concert experience it so deserves.”

Regional vice-president for AEG Presents in the Pacific Northwest Chad Quierolo also added, “We’ve had an incredible 25-plus year relationship promoting shows with Mike Quinn and Monqui, and look forward to many more years of putting on historical shows together.”
