The Eagles have once again extended their impending Las Vegas Sphere residency, due to extreme demand for tickets.

The American rock band confirmed their residency last month with the initial announcement of eight shows. In the weeks that followed, a further eight shows were added.

“Overwhelming demand” for tickets has now led to another four shows being added to the residency, which will now stretch into next year.

Live Nation posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the residency will feature 20 shows over 10 weekends, from September 20 through January 25, 2025.

Presale registration is already open for tickets, with the presale itself to take place on July 23. The general on-sale will follow on July 26.

The Eagles will be the fourth band to take on a residency at the Sphere, following stints from U2, Phish and Dead & Company, whose current string of shows will end in August.

U2 opened the Sphere, which came with a $2.3bn (£1.8bn/€2.1bn) price tag, in September last year. The Irish rock band then went on to play a further 39 dates through to early March.

The venue can hold up to 18,600 guests, boasts floor-to-ceiling graphics, and a 580,000-square foot exterior Exosphere consisting of roughly 1.2 million LED pucks, spaced eight inches apart. Each puck houses 48 individual LED diodes, with each diode capable of displaying 256 million different colours. It is also the largest LED screen on earth.
