VAI Resort, a new $1bn (£777m/€920m) entertainment district in the Arizonan capital of Phoenix, has recruited Tixr to provide its ticketing and e-commerce services.
The resort boasts an 1,100-room hotel, culinary, and live entertainment areas and is set to open later this year.
The entire site is around 60 acres and will also have a $50m amphitheatre that has been built to facilitate large-scale events.
“VAI Resort is not just a world-class destination; it’s unlike anything you’ve ever experienced,” said Tixr chief executive Robert Davari.
“With its diverse venues and experiences on property, each with their own tech needs, VAI is the forward-thinking kind of partner Tixr is uniquely suited for.”
“We can power sales for the entire resort, from complex reserved seating to bottle service, hotel packages—virtually anything—which hasn’t been possible before on a single system.
“And we do it in a visual, elegant way that feels nothing like traditional ticketing. We’re working closely with the VAI team to bring their vision to life and can’t wait to get operational.”
Tixr operates more than 500 live entertainment brands in 40 countries. Since its inception, the company has processed nearly $2bn in transactions.
“Everything we’re building at VAI Resort, from the property itself to the guest experience, is unique, bigger, bolder, and first-of-its-kind,” said VAI Resort’s senior vice-president of entertainment and sponsorships Howard Weiss.
“That ethos is reflected in the technology partners we’ve chosen like Tixr and the innovative feature set they bring to the table.
“After a long vetting process, there’s no question that Tixr was the right choice for us. Tixr is way more than just a ticketing platform with the technology, flexibility, and customer service commitment that can handle the breadth of experiences we’ll be offering here. It’s a true partnership, and every day we’re reminded of why we chose them.”
