Singapore is set to welcome popular musical Wicked to Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands once more.
Returning in March 2025, the Broadway and West End favourite will be presented by Base Entertainment Asia.
The musical is a spin off from the classic tale The Wizard of Oz and is based on the 1995 novel of the same name. It tells the story of Dorothy before she stepped into the land of Oz. It features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman.
Originating on Broadway in 2003, the musical has previously featured in Singapore at Marina Bay Sands in 2011 and 2016.
A waitlist for tickets for the 2025 production has already opened, and will stay open until August 11. There will also be a number of pre-sales with bank UOB offering an exclusive priority access sale for cardmembers in Singapore and across southeast Asia that have purchased tickets on travel company Klook. Additionally, UOB cardmembers can buy tickets from Marina Bay Sands ticketing and Sistic from August 13.
General sales will begin on August 16.
“Wicked will enchant both returning fans, who will rediscover the magic anew, and newcomers who are about to embark on an unforgettable journey into the Emerald City for the very first time,” said Chantal Prudhomme, chief executive of Base Entertainment Asia, as per The Straits Times.
