The 2024 Suncorp Super Netball season was the most attended season of Australian women’s sport with a final total attendance of 366,222.
It marked the biggest campaign in the league’s history, with 34,381 fans watching the Finals Series after a regular season attendance of 331,841.
An average of 6,097 people went to each match, which was an increase on the 5,069 in 2023 and also marked the highest average crowd in Australian women’s sport.
“Fans have supported their teams in record numbers this year, making Suncorp Super Netball the most attended season of Australian’s women sport,” said Netball Australia chief executive Stacey West.
“We say a massive thank you to our fans for your passion and support. Our Suncorp Super Netball athletes and clubs have staged an incredible season, proving the Suncorp Super Netball League is the best netball competition in the world.”
The 2024 season ended on August 3 and saw the Adelaide Thunderbirds win back-to-back titles in front of a capacity crowd of 9,694 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
The team narrowly beat the Melbourne Vixens 59-57 and marks the third consecutive year that the Grand Final has sold out.
The league’s sponsor Suncorp, a Brisbane-based banking company, has vowed to donate more than A$70,000 (£35,000/$45,000/41,500) to the Confident Girls Foundation.
The Foundation supports programmes that enable disadvantaged girls to play netball.
