The Weeknd is finally set to return to Australia with his ‘After Hours Til Dawn' global stadium tour.
Scheduled for October, the dates will be the first stadium performances for the Canadian singer on Australian soil, and his first visit to the region since 2017.
The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, will perform two nights at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 5 and 6, followed by two dates at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on October 22 and 23. The singer originally postponed his Australia and New Zealand tour dates due to “unforeseen circumstances” in November last year.
“I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn’t forgotten about you. When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience. I can’t wait to see you all,” The Weeknd commented.
The tour is not scheduled to travel to Brisbane – which was previously on the bill – and no further Australian cities will be added. The tour will also not stop in New Zealand.
All 2023 ticket-holders will have the chance to purchase tickets for the Melbourne and Sydney shows during the Past Purchaser Presale on August 21. Vodafone customers will have access to another presale on August 22, as well as Mastercard and eligible CommBank Yello customers. Preferred ticket access will be available from August 26, while Westfield members will also gain access to exclusive reserved tickets from this date.
The general onsale will begin on August 26.
The Weeknd’s 2022-23 After Hours Til Dawn Tour travelled across North America, Europe, the UK and Latin America with over 60 sold-out stadium dates and more than three million attendees.
The tour broke attendance records at a number of venues including London Stadium with 160,000 concertgoers across two nights.
