The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has signed a three-year deal with ticketing platform Webook prior to the beginning of its new season which begins today.
The collaboration is aimed at streamlining the ticketing experience for fans, who will also be offered early access to single match and season tickets.
“With this new partnership, the platform will move to support participating SPL’s clubs with tech assistance as well as ongoing ticket promotions,” read an SPL statement.
“The platform will deduct its operating fees, after which all ticket revenues will go to the clubs.
“The SPL aims to make ticketing fully digital, enhancing the buying experience and ensuring easy access for fans. In later stages, clubs can integrate Webook with their own sites, offering multiple purchase points for fans. The SPL will also ensure the ticketing process is smooth and transparent, helping eliminate black-market sales and making tickets fairly priced for all fans.
“The league will be responsible for supervising ticket distribution to ensure proper seat allocation and making sure the platform is operating efficiently. This announcement comes as a first phase of efforts to enhance ticketing and provide fans with the best possible experience to matches.”
The SPL has committed to offering affordable tickets and as a result has ensured that 30% of seats are priced at SAR30 (£6/$8/€7).
In terms of seat allocation the split between home and away fans will remain at 70-30.
