Premium experiences provider Seat Unique has raised an additional £14.5m (€17m/$19m) in extended Series A funding.

The funding round was led by investment firm Nickleby Capital.

Seat Unique said the economic injection will be used to enhance its platform and help the company expand into new sectors, as it continues to benefit from a booming experience economy.

Additionally, Seat Unique has assembled a board of advisors in the form of Alastair Lukies CBE, Dame Alison Rose, Sir Michael Lockett, Tim Griffin and Damien O’Donohoe, complimenting the experience of existing board members, chairperson Richard Flint and Saav Shah of Nickleby Capital.

“The experience economy is rapidly becoming the backbone of the music industry, as fans increasingly seek out not just live performances, but unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experiences,” commented Flint, Seat Unique’s chairperson.

“Given the significance of these occasions, fans want to be certain that they are buying from a trusted and transparent company that only uses genuine sources. We are delighted with the recent growth that Seat Unique has seen, and the knowledge, connections and resources that these new investors bring will help us take advantage of the huge opportunities ahead of us.”

Seat Unique has previously secured backing from The Players Fund, a UK-based athlete-led venture capital firm. The Players Fund was established by elite sportspeople such as England cricketer Ben Stokes, athlete Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and footballer Chris Smalling.

In June, Seat Unique announced the roll out of The Seat Unique Club, a series of exciting new hospitality offerings. So far, the new Club offering includes the exclusive Jacksonville Jaguars Shadow experience (the Jaguars’ hospitality for when the NFL features in the UK), the Seat Unique Club at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – home to Premier League side Tottenham – as well the Seat Unique Deck Suite at new Manchester indoor arena Co-op Live and the Seat Unique Suite at London’s Wembley Stadium.
