A refreshed look for Utah Athletics app

The University of Utah’s Athletics department has launched a refreshed version of its Utah360° mobile app. The Utah360° app serves as Utah Athletics’ digital hub, providing fans with exclusive video content, including game highlights, player interviews, podcasts and more. The app also offers mobile concessions ordering at Rice-Eccles Stadium, managing and purchasing tickets, news from Utah Athletics, schedules, stats and scores. Users will benefit from an enhanced interface and a cleaner look. 

An easier ride

Link My Ride, an app that enables cyclists to explore, plan and create group rides, has launched an in-app ticketing solution. The new feature has been designed to simplify the event planning process, while improving efficiency and offering the opportunity to monetise group rides and events from cycling-focused organisers.

OpenSea or hot water?

OpenSea NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace, where a number of music fans go to sell their NFTs, has said that it may be in trouble with the US’ Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). “OpenSea has received a Wells notice from the SEC threatening to sue us because they believe NFTs on our platform are securities,” said chief executive Devin Finzer on X.

“NFTs are fundamentally creative goods: art, collectibles, video game items, domain names, event tickets, and more. We should not regulate digital art in the same way we regulate collateralised debt obligations.”

Improved access

Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the National Sports Authority, are set to introduce an upgraded ticketing system for the country’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The new e-ticketing system is hoped to streamline entry and improve the overall matchday experience.

Tixbase links up with Passo

Blockchain-based ticketing platform Tixbase has partnered with Turkish ticketing company Passo in a new five-year deal. The aim of the collaboration is to enhance security and transparency, and build a seamless experience for consumers and event organisers, while also helping to regulate the secondary market.
