Question marks over Lyte as website remains down

Lyte’s website remains down on Monday with unconfirmed reports claiming that the ticketing marketplace is no longer trading.

The company’s website has displayed an ‘undergoing scheduled maintenance’ message since last week, with visitors unable to access ticket inventory or other sections. Lyte has yet to make any statement about the website being unavailable or give assurances about its future.

As recently as the start of last week, Lyte was promoting its Lyte Groups solution. At the start of the month, Lyte announced a partnership with the Revolt World festival in Atlanta.

Lyte and several employees have not responded to TheTicketingBusiness’ request for comment.

Several posts on social media refer to the company as no longer being operational without citing further information.

Earlier this year, Lyte announced that it had hit the milestone of generating $750m in reservations for live events since its foundation in 2014. Headquartered in San Francisco, it acquired the assets of the UK’s Event Genius and Festicket businesses in 2022 after they went into administration.

Lyte’s platform is used by more than 5,700 artist tours, festivals, venues, and live events, including BottleRock Napa Valley and Baja Beach Fest.

Speaking earlier this year, chief executive and co-founder Ant Taylor said: “We are innovating in a space that is innovation-starved.

“Our reservation system is so much more than just a waitlist. With Lyte, fans put down their credit card, save money, and receive greater flexibility and transparency. For event producers, they now understand what fans are willing to pay upfront, which brings them more revenue, earlier on. We help everyone win.”
