The Australian and New Zealand Tour of Jurassic World by Brickman has avoided extinction and become the highest-attended exhibition at Queensland Museum.

The milestone was announced by live content and ticketing company TEG, which revealed that over a quarter of a million people had passed through the exhibition’s gates. The exhibition was held at Brisbane’s Queensland Museum from July 14-28 this year, having first started in Melbourne in 2021. It has also visited Sydney and Perth in Australia, as well as Wellington in New Zealand.

Jurassic World by Brickman brings to life the blockbuster movie franchise from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, and was the largest LEGO Brick exhibition ever created by The Brickman Team.

The brick model builders and craftspeople helped to bring the exhibition to Australia and New Zealand, with more than one million people coming to see all editions.

The Brickman was formed by Ryan McNaught, an Australian designer and one of just 21 professional LEGO builders globally.

Additionally, The Brickman’s ‘Wonders of the World’ exhibition holds a spot in the top five attended exhibitions at Queensland Museum.

“TEG is delighted with the attendance figures we managed to achieve for Jurassic World by Brickman. This was no easy feat and shows the current appetite for family entertainment,” commented TEG Group chief executive Geoff Jones.

“This partnership between The Brickman and TEG initially kicked off in 2016 and since then we have managed to go from strength to strength by building audiences across the country and globally.

“The Brickman is now one of the biggest names in family entertainment and we look forward to bringing more world-class exhibitions to fans around the globe.”

During the Australian tour, a second exhibition was built for international touring with a show opening in Sweden in 2023 before moving to Madrid earlier this year. The exhibition has now opened in Rio de Janeiro, and it will head to Sao Paulo and then Santiago, Chile in 2025.

The Jurassic World by Brickman exhibition will now head to the US, where it will debut at OMSI in Portland before travelling to multiple cities.
