Baltimore’s Lyric Theatre has partnered with Etix, with the non-profit performing arts centre and live entertainment venue utilising the independent ticketing provider’s web-based ticketing suite to sell admissions online and onsite.

The Lyric – as it is now known as – was inaugurated in 1894 and is located in the Mount Vernon neighbourhood of Baltimore, Maryland. Other than theatre productions, it hosts concerts, events and live entertainment. Having evolved over time, the venue now mixes its historic setting with modern stage technology and up-to-date conveniences for its patrons.

Founded in 2000, Etix is a web-based ticketing service provider. It claims to process more than 55 million tickets per year across 40 countries, providing ticketing solutions, digital marketing services and e-commerce fulfilment.

“Etix’s dedication to supporting and uplifting independent venues perfectly aligns with our core mission to provide world-class entertainment at Baltimore’s legendary Lyric Theatre,” said Chris Heacock, general manager at the Lyric Theatre.

“Their innovative technology and commitment to client support and customer service provide the support we need in a ticketing partnership as we continue elevating our role in Baltimore’s arts community.”

Tickets for the Lyric Theatre will be available via its own website as well as the Etix platform from October 1. Customers that have purchased tickets through the venue’s previous ticketing provider will be notified directly with instructions on how to obtain new tickets within the Etix platform.

“Etix is deeply committed to preserving the legacy of independent venues, and fundamentally understands the need for agile technology that doesn’t sacrifice the core mission values of historic community spaces,” added Travis Janovich, chief executive and founder of Etix.

“We are excited and proud to partner with the Lyric Theatre and its long-standing tradition of bringing unforgettable performances to the Baltimore community.”
