Melbourne-headquartered Tixel has been named as the official resale platform for the upcoming global ‘The Final Nights Of Six’ farewell tour from British rock band, You Me At Six.
The tour is set to feature more than 80 dates across the US, UK, Europe and Australia, and will kick off on October 9. The concerts will celebrate the band’s 20 years together and allow fans to see You Me At Six for the last time.
Tixel describes itself as a fan-first, fair ticket resale marketplace that uses technology to detect suspected fraudulent activity, and bots attempting to snap up tickets. Tixel caps the price of resale tickets at face value plus fees, squashing the potential for scalping.
“There are a lot of cowboys out there and having a legitimate place where fans can trade tickets is so important to us,” commented You Me At Six.
“We want to ensure that everyone who attends a show on our final tour is an actual fan and that everyone has paid a fair price, and Tixel allows us to do that.”
While fans are encouraged to purchase tickets for ‘The Final Nights Of Six’ tour through the relevant primary ticketing platforms, they are also able to join the Tixel waitlist if they become available.
“We really admire artists that show the kind of dedication to their fans that You Me At Six does, from announcement to encore. We agree — people shouldn’t have to pay grossly marked up prices to access tickets and no-one should be left outside the venue with a fake ticket in hand. We’re excited to support the band in making this final tour a memorable experience for as many fans as possible,” said Matt Kaplan, Tixel’s head of UK and Europe.
The collaboration was assisted by Create Racket, a social agency advising You Me At Six on content and brand partnerships.
You Me At Six will begin their tour in Dallas on October 9, before heading to other US cities such as Austin, Orlando, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and more. The tour will also feature stops in Toronto and Montréal in Canada.
European shows will take place in Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Australia dates will include Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.
An extensive list of concerts are set for the UK, with multiple nights in Cardiff, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and more.
