SeatGeek has appointed Mike Shane as its new executive vice president of enterprise partnerships, as the company seeks to expand its growth-focused strategy.
Shane (pictured left), a seasoned sports industry executive, brings over a decade of experience leading revenue-driving initiatives at organisations including the Washington Nationals, Philadelphia Flyers and Wells Fargo Center.
Shane said: “For a long time, I’ve had ambitions of impacting our industry at a macro level, and this role will allow me to do just that.
“The ticketing function in sports and entertainment desperately needs to innovate to meet evolving consumer demands, and SeatGeek simply has the best technology platform out there. I’ve spent over two decades working on various ticketing systems across multiple leagues. It’s clear to me that SeatGeek operates on a different level, continuously innovating, and I’m excited to help push the boundaries even further.”
Shane Harmon has been appointed as managing director – experiences for TEG.
Harmon joins TEG with more than 25 years’ industry experience, most recently working as chief executive at Sky Stadium in Wellington. His resume also includes working with notable organisations such as Sydney Swans, Rugby Australia, and the local organising committees for Rugby World Cup 2023 and 2011.
Harmon will lead the strategic direction and development for TEG’s experience arm of the Business. Recently, TEG has promoted exciting family content such as Brickman’s Jurassic World, Paw Patrol Live! and the Friends Experience, which is just about to launch in Sydney.
ASM Global’s Middle East hires
ASM Global has announced a series of hires in the Middle East, including the appointment of Martin McGougan as the group’s regional director business development for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) Region.
McGougan is a strategic events specialist with over 20 years in the business across the Middle East and Scotland. For the last 10 years, McGougan has been based at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) helping to deliver the government’s Economic Vision 2030 through the development of core markets and the establishment of key business events.
Santiago Olea (pictured centre) has become general manager of the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) Conference Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Olea brings over 10 years’ experience across vital sports and entertainment venues and major events in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Dubai.
Convention industry specialist Alan Pryor has been named general manager of Exhibition World Bahrain. Alan brings more than 40 years’ experience in international convention and hotel management, including as General Manager for the ASM Global operated Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.
ASM Global has also announced that Tina Eggers (pictured right), deputy director of business development (APAC and MENA) will spend several months in Bahrain providing support for the new team helping to drive the strategic direction of attracting new business, clients and visitors to Bahrain.
Confirmed360 has announced the appointment of Marcus Plumb as its new vice president of strategy and growth.
In his new role with the premium experience provider, Plumb will spearhead key growth initiatives focusing on optimising channel distribution of VIP offerings, domestic and international customer acquisition, vertical integration of business assets, and inorganic growth opportunities globally.
