Everton has announced its plans to migrate season ticket holders and rollout sales ahead of the switch to its new stadium next season.
The Premier League club said the sale of season tickets for the first campaign at Everton Stadium will be phased based on season ticket tenure. The announcement follows the introduction of ticketing priority windows ahead of the current season, which is Everton’s last at Goodison Park.
Those who have held a season ticket for 23 years or longer will be part of the first phase of sales for the Bramley-Moore Dock venue. Between January and March 2025, the eligibility criteria will drop incrementally, until every season ticket member has had the opportunity to select their seat. Groups of supporters looking to secure seats together must wait until the person with the lowest level of eligibility is able to buy.
In a plan informed by comprehensive supporter consultations, another priority for the new stadium is that young supporters should not be pushed to the back of the queue because their age means they have only owned tickets for a relatively short period of time.
For younger fans, enhanced tenure will bring forward the date from which any fan who was under the age of 18 as of September 1 this year will be able to purchase their seat.
‘There is not a bad seat in the house’
As Everton switches from the 39,000-capacity Goodison Park to the 53,000-capacity new venue, the club said it is unlikely that any supporters will be negatively impacted by having to wait until later in the sales process.
“It is important to stress that, by waiting for others, nobody will be sacrificing choice,” interim chief executive Colin Chong said in a statement. “Obstructed views are a thing of the past. As you will hear frequently from those who visit the site, there is not a bad seat in the house. This is one of the many benefits a new state-of-the-art stadium gives us.”
Ahead of the rollout, all season ticket members will be contacted to confirm the data the club currently holds is correct. In November, Everton will begin to provide detail that will help fans determine where inside the stadium they want to be.
“This will include the release of information on what each stand will offer and the greatly enhanced accessibility provision at Everton Stadium, before pricing information and the season ticket renewal timeline is laid out in full,” Chong said.
