The events, live entertainment and ticketing company first informed retail company Fnac Darty that it planned to exercise its call option to acquire a further 17% of France Billet’s share capital in August last year.
Now, the European Commission has informed CTS Eventim that it has no antitrust or other objections to the exercising of the call-option to acquire a larger share, and the approval was issued free of restrictions and conditions.
The approval was also a prerequisite for increasing the shareholding in France Billet from 48% to 65%.
Fnac Darty will continue to hold a 35% stake in France Billet, and will support France Billet through its stores and Fnac Spectacles brand.
In June, CTS Eventim completed the acquisition of See Tickets from media and communications giant Vivendi. A put option agreement had originally been signed on April 2, 2024.
The deal was worth approximately €300m (£250m/$325m).
