The event is set to take place at Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park Arena as the company looks to outsell the UFC’s best crowd of 57,127.
The figure was set at UFC 243 in October 2019 at Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.
“It’s crazy, it’s amazing,” said Oktagon MMA co-owner Pavol Neruda.
“The arena is so huge, the atmosphere is so big, and this is us making a massive statement to the world.
“We sold 40,000 within the first 3 weeks, before we even announced many fights, and I think that that shows how we have built a brand that the public can trust.
“They know that an OKTAGON event is a great experience – somewhere they can go with their friends and have six hours of fun.
“We feel at home in Frankfurt, it’s a huge city and we feel a part of the city. We have announced Eckerlin and Coga on the card, who are local names, and I think this combination worked really well.”
Two of Germany’s biggest MMA stars in Christian Eckerlin and Christian Jungwirth are set to face off in the cage while the UK’s James Hendin and Will Fleury are also on the card.
UFC 243 drew the sixth highest MMA crowd in the sport’s history, some way behind the Pride/K-1 Shockwave event in 2002 that was attended by 91,107 people at the former National Stadium in Tokyo.
However, the true attendance figure of that event is disputed as some sources list the number at around 71,000 spectators.
