Live Nation and SJM told BBC File on 4 that all invalidated tickets will be made available again through the official seller, Ticketmaster. Some 1.4 million tickets went on sale when Oasis first announced their UK tour in August, when more than 10 million fans from 158 countries attempted to secure their spot.
Tickets were only available at face value through Ticketmaster, or resale partner Twickets. Live Nation and SJM told the BBC that 4% of tickets ended up on resale sites – roughly 50,000. The tickets are being cancelled because listing them on resale sites went against the terms and conditions.
Organisers further said that some major tours witness up to 20% of tickets appearing via unauthorised secondary platforms.
Fans that believe they have had their tickets cancelled in error will be able to speak to the relevant ticket agent to try and resolve the matter.
The terms and conditions were put in place to help prevent ticket touts from reselling tickets at hugely inflated prices.
After Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher announced the UK and Ireland dates, further concerts were scheduled for the US, Canada and Mexico, as well as Australia.
