Glastonbury Festival is introducing a virtual queue as part of a completely new ticketing system for its 2025 event.

Glastonbury hopefuls will no longer have to refresh their browser page to secure tickets for the UK’s most prestigious music festival, but instead join the virtual queue when they go on sale from November 14.

Those wanting to acquire tickets must register before November 11. When the ticket sale begins at 6pm on Thursday, November 14, everyone who is already on the glastonbury.seetickets.com page will randomly be assigned a place in a queue to access the booking process. Anyone who logs in after sales begin to be placed at the back of the queue.

“The booking process itself for 2025 will be the same as in previous years, however, the way in which you join the booking process is changing,” a statement on the Glastonbury website said.

Not everyone agrees with the change, with at least one social media user suggesting the old system rewarded those who devoted more effort towards ensuring they are among the 200,000 Glastonbury attendees.

Progress bar

Once customers are in the queue, a progress bar will indicate how close they are to reaching the booking page.

Glastonbury organisers warned that refreshing the page, using multiple tabs or many devices can look like suspicious behaviour and can harm a user’s chances of getting through by triggering anti-bot software. Users are told to stick to one tab or device per IP address and not to refresh their page once in the queue.

Once they reach the front of the queue, they will be asked to enter the registration number and postcode for the lead booker and up to five other people for whom they are attempting to book tickets.

Ticket-buyers are given 10 minutes to complete the page before their session expires, however, tickets are not allocated at this point.

Fallow year in 2026

General admission full weekend tickets (valid from Wednesday 25th June to Sunday 29th June) for Glastonbury 2025 will cost £373.50. Ticket and coach travel options will go on sale at 6pm (GMT) on November 14, with general admission tickets on sale at 9am (GMT) on Sunday, November 17.

Fans can book up to six tickets per transaction by paying a £75 deposit per person when the sale begins, plus coach fare if they are booking a ticket and coach travel option.

Glastonbury will be taking its next fallow year in 2026, in order to give the farm, the village and the festival team the traditional year off.
