Two individuals indicted for Snowflake hack that affected Ticketmaster

The US District Court for the Western District of Washington has indicted two individuals for hacking a third-party data storage and analytics company, which affected the companies such as Ticketmaster and more.

Connor Moucka and John Binns have been indicted for hacking Snowflake, which led to data breaches at roughly 165 corporations using the platform such as Ticketmaster and telecommunications business AT&T.

While Ticketmaster and AT&T were not named explicitly in the document, descriptions of “a major telecommunications company located in the US” and “major entertainment company located in the US” point in their direction.

The indictment document said that Moucka and Binns accessed “billions of sensitive customer records”, and were successful in extorting at least three victims over the span of nearly a year, from November 2023 to October 10.

Live Nation confirmed that Ticketmaster had suffered a data breach back in June, after hackers claimed they had stolen details of more than 500 million customers.

Moucka lived in Canada and was known online as ‘Judische’, ‘catist, ‘waif’ and ‘cllyels’, while Binns’ monikers were ‘irdev’ and ‘j_irdev1337’ and was located in Turkey.
