Ticketek’s Australia and New Zealand websites are now back up and running after an outage from Monday stretched into Tuesday morning.
The ticketing business explained that the outage was taken as a precautionary measure in response to its “system monitoring indicating a heightened threat level”.
When fans had logged onto the websites on Monday, they were presented with an error message that said they were down for “maintenance”.
Following the downtime, Ticketek thanked its customers and partners for their patience while the systems were temporarily offline, and apologised for the inconvenience.
“We took this action as a precautionary measure in response to system monitoring indicating a heightened threat level. For any customers who have a query regarding an upcoming event or status of their ticket to please contact us,” Ticketek said in a post on social media.
Ticketek wishes to thank its Customers and Partners for their patience while our systems were temporarily offline. Our systems were back online earlier this morning and we apologise for any inconvenience.

Ramifications of the outage were felt across the industry, including by some promoters.
Frontier Touring was forced to delay, cancel, or even switch to different ticket agencies for a number of presales and onsales. For Jack White’s Sydney and Melbourne shows, Frontier Touring switched to TicketSearch and AXS for the presales while Ticketek was down.
The concert promoter also had to delay sales for Alexisonfire, with tickets to now go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday). Additionally, the Frontier Member presale for Róisín Murphy’s Sydney show was unable to go ahead at all.
