People on the Move: CTS Eventim, ATG and more

CTS Eventim has named eBay Europe co-founder Karel Dörner as its new chief technology officer.

Dörner, an experienced top-level manager, led McKinsey Digital Labs in Western Europe for many years after his work with start-up Alando, which became eBay Europe, in the late 1990s.

In the newly created position, Dörner will be responsible for CTS Eventim’s technological progress, for the ongoing digitalisation of its business processes, and for the further development of its data-driven business models.

When Dörner takes office in January, he will assume responsibility for the group’s technology-focused units: IT, Product, and Information Science. Managing director Christoph Bodi, who has been leading the internal IT unit CTS Eventim Solutions for 14 years, will remain in position and report to the new CTO.

Klaus-Peter Schulenberg, CTS Eventim’s chief executive, said: “Karel will bring fresh impetus to the company and, together with all our employees, ensure that thousands of promoters and millions of fans worldwide will be able to continue relying on our ticketing services every day.”

Klein switches to ATG Entertainment

Broadway veteran Mitchell Klein has joined ATG Entertainment’s senior leadership team in North America as US vice-president, ticketing.

Klein was previously national director of sales operations for Broadway Across America, a presenter and producer of live theatrical events, based in New York City. Prior to this, Klein held various roles in his 19 years at Ticketmaster and Live Nation, including sales and marketing Associate in London.

Klein will collaborate with ATG’s marketing, hospitality, and operations teams to deliver ticketing services for all shows in the group’s venues across the US.

Ted Stimpson, global chief executive of ATG Entertainment, said: “We are thrilled to have Mitchell join our growing team in North America. His experience will significantly strengthen our senior leadership team and allow us to continue delivering great experience for customers and value for producers and promoters.”

Oon Jin Teik, one of Southeast Asia’s most prominent sports business pioneers, has joined Tixbase’s advisory board.

Oon is a former Olympic swimmer who became chief executive of Sport Singapore and Singapore Sports Hub. He has also worked with Xctuality, ESPL Esports Players League and ASICS. Tixbase is a leading provider of blockchain-based ticketing solutions.

Madelaine moves to CAF

Jonathan Madelaine has been appointed as ticketing manager at the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Madelaine previously worked for Wetix at a series of major sports events in France, including the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup 2023 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019. He was also employed as a ticketing consultant for the Africa Cup of Nations 2023. Madelaine’s new role with CAF is based in Cairo, Egypt.

Tom Gomes has been named ticketing lead at Wasserman, the sports, music, entertainment and culture services provider, in London. Gomes previously held roles at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as well as Formula E.

Mina Horvat has been appointed as ticketing sales channel manager at FIFA World Cup 2026™. Horvat takes up the Miami-based role after more than a year working on FIFA projects.
