Glastonbury Festival has announced its first act for next year – Sir Rod Stewart.

The 79-year-old rock and pop veteran will play the legends slot on Sunday afternoon, marking 23 years after he last appeared at the UK flagship festival when he headlined in 2002.

Ahead of the ticket sales for the 2025 edition of Glastonbury, organisers revealed that they would be introducing a virtual queue as part of a new ticketing system.

Prospective ticket-buyers no longer had to refresh their browser page to secure tickets, but were instead placed into a virtual queue before being allowed to access the booking process.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2025 were priced at £375.50 (€450/$473 plus a £5 booking fee and sold out in 35 minutes. The festival will take place on Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 25-29.

While Stewart is the first act to be officially announced, rumoured headliners include Sam Fender, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, Eminem and Charli XCX.
