Ticketcorner has been named the official partner of the 2026 IIHF Ice hockey World Championship, which is set to be hosted in Switzerland.

It will be the first time in 17 years that the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) championship will be held in the country, scheduled for May 15-31, 2026. The 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship would have been held in Switzerland, but was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Ice hockey fans will now have the chance to sign up for the latest on tickets for the 2026 event, with details around sales to be provided soon.

Bremen-headquartered CTS Eventim acquired Ticketcorner in 2010.

“We are delighted to have Ticketcorner on board as our Official Partner. They have solid roots in Switzerland and extensive experience in the ice hockey world,” commented Christian Hofstetter, general secretary of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Switzerland.

“Ticketcorner’s technical infrastructure is compliant with the very highest international standards and will guarantee that the ticketing process runs smoothly – for fans, sponsors and partners alike. Our collaboration forms an important foundation for the success of the event.”

The championship will be held across two host cities at Swiss Life Arena in Zurich and BCF Arena in Fribourg.

Oliver Niedermann, chief executive of Ticketcorner, added: “We are proud to have been selected once again as Official Partner for this major championship. Through the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, we are keen to do our bit to encourage lasting growth for ice hockey as a sport, to expand the fan base and to thus give mass sports a boost too. To that end, the 2026 IIHF WC in Switzerland is ideal.”
