Musicians will tour more than 150 locations nationally thanks to investment from Creative Australia and Music Australia.
The artists will head to 159 destinations across Australia overall, backed by the latest investment of more than A$500,000 (£250,000/€302,000/$317,000) through the Contemporary Music Touring Programme. The investment includes an injection of A$300,000 from Music Australia with A$50,000 invested to help artists promote tours through Australian music media.
Tours span multiple genres including pop, blues, reggae, experimental and upbeat R&B for children.
Recipients include acts such as Hamed Sadeghi of New South Wales, with the Northern Rhapsody Australia Tour; Stuart Nugget of the Northern Territory and The Jingili Song Project; and Luminescence Chamber Singers from the Australian Capital Territory and their Red Dirt Hymns.
“This investment will bring live performances to audiences right across the country. From remote regional towns to major cities, these tours reflect the incredible diversity of Australian music and its power to bring communities together,” commented Creative Australia’s executive director of arts investment, Alice Nash.
Director of Music Australia Millie Millgate added: “This uplift aims to help artists amplify their upcoming tours through Australian music media, increasing discoverability and strengthening the fabric of Australia’s contemporary music ecology.”
