FIFA will deploy dynamic pricing for tickets for the inaugural Club World Cup, which is to be held in the US next year.
The presale began on Tuesday, while the general sale for tickets begins on Thursday, with fans able to grab seats for the 48-match group stage. European giants Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich will take on teams from the rest of the world in the 32-club tournament.
The Ticketmaster presale allows the 12 host venues for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 to reward their customers through their loyalty programmes or promotional activities.
Thursday’s on-sale will also see fans of the 32 teams able to secure dedicated tickets all the way through to the final should their team be successful. According to Bayern Munich’s website, tickets to the final at MetLife Stadium in New York New Jersey will start at $892 for upper tier seats, going all the way to $2230 for lower tier seats.
According to the New York Times, tickets will be subject to dynamic pricing, meaning that they will go on sale at a base price which could increase depending on time and demand. This model generated controversy when it was used for the Oasis tour on-sale earlier this year.
FIFA said prices will begin at just $30 for the lowest level tickets for group games. Tickets for the general public for the knockout stage will go on sale on January 16.
