Gigmit syncs up with Hungary’s Hangvető
Music booking and discovery platform Gigmit has linked up with Hungarian festival promoter Hangvető, which developed and leads the Upbeat platform with 33 international music festivals. The partnership has led to the launch of the Upbeat Universe, a digital platform that has been designed to connect emerging artists with elements of world, folk or roots music with global bookers and festival organisers.
PDT
Mingo, a digital wallet built on the Hedera Hashgraph network, has introduced an NFT-based Programmable Digital Ticketing (PDT) system. It is hoped that this will address critical issues such as fraud, scalping and problems around resale.
Sweat
Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s ‘Sweat’ concert tour in North America in September and October will now be available for all to watch in virtual reality (VR). They have become the latest artists to have their live shows featured on Meta Quest VR headsets. ‘Charli XCX & Troye Sivan Present Sweat in VR’ will stream on December 27 as part of Meta’s partnership with iHeartMedia.
Forest to make switch
From the 2026-27 season, the Premier League will make digital ticketing a mandatory requirement for all existing clubs. This means that for some upcoming games at Nottingham Forest will have digital/print at home only tickets, and season card-holders will not have their ticket uploaded onto their card. Between now and the 2026-27 season, there will be other implementations regarding digital ticketing to best ensure that the club and its supporters are fully prepared for the requirement.
