A fundraising benefit concert in aid of the Southern California wildfire victims has been announced for January 30.
FireAid will be held at the recently opened Intuit Dome, with the funds raised dedicated to rebuilding the communities devastated by wildfires.
The Los Angeles area has suffered from wildfires over the last week, with three still currently burning – Palisades, Hurst and Eaton – and are partially contained as of today (Monday).
A total of 24 people have died and many others have lost their homes.
The 18,000-seat Intuit Dome opened in the summer of last year with two Bruno Mars concerts. It is home to the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Clippers, and is situated in Inglewood.
Performers and ticketing information will be announced for the concert in the coming days.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards a 501(c)(3) – a charitable organisation – that has been specifically created for this event to focus on rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families, and advancing fire prevention technologies.
FireAid will be produced by Irving Azoff (entertainment veteran and co-founder of Oak View Group with Tim Leiweke) and his family, in conjunction with Live Nation and AEG Presents.
