Major League Baseball’s (MLB) San Diego Padres has sold out its season ticket inventory for the third year running.

All remaining tickets for the 2025 season at Petco Park will be available on a single-game basis and are set to go on sale on February 4. Meanwhile, season ticket members and waitlist members will have pre-sale access from January 29.

The record season ticket sales come on the back of the team raising prices for a fourth consecutive season, despite shedding around $90m (£75m/€88m) from last year’s opening day payroll projection.

It marked a three per cent increase on the previous year’s prices, following more substantial increases of 20% in 2022 and 18% in 2023.

Before this, the Padres did not raise season ticket prices from 2017 to 2021 although fans were barred from games in 2020 and capacity was limited at the start of 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The side has reached the MLB postseason in three of the last five seasons, including playing in the National League Championship Series in 2022 and the National League Division series last season.

The previous campaign saw the Padres record 93 wins which is the second-most in the franchise’s history.

The demand for Padres tickets is not only reflected in season ticket sell-outs, but also in overall attendance as the team ranked fourth in the league for average attendance in 2024 with 41,117.
