XP Factory, which operates Escape Hunt and Boom Battle Bar, has recorded “very strong seasonal performances” from the two brands.

A total of 20 Boom Battle Bar sites and eight Escape Hunt sites delivered record sales weeks over the Christmas period.

In the five weeks leading up to January 5, Boom Battle Bar registered a 17.4% increase in like-for-like sales while Escape Hunt grew 14.3%

Total sales for Boom in the 40 weeks prior were £31m ($37.7m/€36.8m) while Escape Hunt made £11m, representing respective increases of 5.9% and 5.3% from the previous year.

“We are delighted with the exceptional performances achieved in both our brands over the important Christmas period,” said XP Factory chief executive Richard Harpham.

“The recent performance coupled with our accelerated growth strategy provide an exciting and clear path to value creation, capitalising on the growing and positive long-term trends in favour of experiential leisure.”

XP Factory opened its newest unit in Cambridge in the first week of December.

The company states that “performance has so far exceeded our expectations”, although it has not revealed any figures to prove that.

The positive holiday period for XP Factory is helping it to achieve its long-term goal of delivering £90m of sales and £13m group EBITDA within four years.
