Skiddle has entered into a partnership with SkootEco in a bid to adopt more sustainable initiatives and “safeguard the future of the events industry”.

Through the collaboration, Skiddle is set to introduce ways for both customers and event organisers to contribute to environmental efforts.

The ticketing company will give customers the option to donate towards carbon-offsetting activities such as countering the environmental impact of travel by planting trees.

Donations start at £1, in the hopes that everyone will be able to contribute.

For event organisers, Skiddle’s platform now offers access to a range of free resources and advice from SkootEco on how to host greener events.

Additionally, a carbon calculator in Skiddle’s promotion centre is aimed at enabling organisers to measure their event’s carbon footprint and take steps to reduce their environmental impact.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Skiddle to integrate meaningful climate action into the heart of event experiences,” said SkootEco chief executive Greg Gormley.

“By countering their carbon footprints, event-goers can not only help protect the planet but also support vital projects that uplift communities in need. Together, we’re proving that incredible events and positive impact can go hand in hand, setting a new benchmark for sustainability in the industry.”

SkootEco is a start-up focused on sustainability within the events industry which has so far planted 1.2 million trees and removed approximately 26,000 tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere.
