Waterbomb teases Sydney plans, Coldplay’s biggest-ever concert to be live-streamed

K-pop festival Waterbomb will head to the Australian city of Sydney for the first time this year.

New social media accounts for an Australian stop popped up today (Monday) across Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter).

A post teased that the festival would be coming soon, but did not give a specific date for the event’s launch.

The festival originated in South Korea, and organisers have held editions in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Dubai, and more.

Elsewhere in live music, British band Coldplay’s (pictured) biggest-ever Indian concert is set to be streamed exclusively on the Disney+ Hotstar platform. According to a report from Variety, the Republic Day performance – which is taking place at the 132,000-capacity Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – will be available to viewers across India.

The show forms part of Coldplay’s ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour, which first began in 2022. Mumbai’s D.Y. Patil Stadium hosted the band on Saturday and Sunday, with one more concert scheduled for tomorrow. They will then head to Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26.

The streaming deal is presented in conjunction with technology company Cisco, and will utilise Disney+ Hotstar’s infrastructure to deliver the live-streamed concert.

India’s Republic Day celebrates the adoption of the Constitution of India and the country’s transition to a republic.
