Rock icons AC/DC are set to play their first Scottish concert in a decade after announcing 12 new tour dates across 10 European countries.

The band will play at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on August 21, marking the only UK stop on the newly announced dates. The concerts form part of the ongoing ‘Power Up’ tour which began in 2024.

Last year saw AC/DC perform across the UK and Europe with shows in a number of locations in Germany, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Zürich in Switzerland, two dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, Paris, and Dublin.

The new list of European dates will follow a stint in the US and Canada, with shows scheduled for Minneapolis, Vancouver, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Nashville, Chicago and Cleveland.

Beginning with Czech capital Prague on June 26, the announced European dates include Berlin’s Olympiastadion, Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy, Düsseldorf’s new entertainment spot Open Air Park, Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium, Imola’s Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, and Tallinn’s Song Festival.

AC/DC will then head to Gothenburg, Oslo, Paris, and Karlsruhe before concluding in Edinburgh.

The Australian band, which boasts Scottish origins, last performed in the country in 2015 at Hampden Park in Glasgow. AC/DC founding members included Angus Young, his brother Malcolm, and former lead singer Bon Scott, who were all born in Scotland before growing up in Australia. Scott died in 1980 aged 33, while Malcolm Young died in 2017. The band currently consists of Angus Young, Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams, Brian Johnson and Stevie Young (his uncles are Angus and Malcolm – he replaced the latter in 2014 due to Malcolm’s retirement).

The ‘Power Up’ tour is in honour of AC/DC’s 2020 album of the same name.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale via Ticketmaster on February 7.
