The FireAid benefit concert for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires is expected to have raised more than $100m (£79m/€95m).

The event at the end of January featured performances from artists including Billie Eilish, Green Day, Stevie Nicks, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. A Nirvana reunion was among the highlights, with Joan Jett and Violet Grohl, daughter of drummer Dave Grohl, standing in for the late Kurt Cobain.

FireAid was the collaboration of the Azoff family, Live Nation, and the LA Clippers basketball team, with Joel Gallen of Tenth Planet, serving as executive producer and Rick Krim as talent producer. The presenting partners of FireAid were Kaiser Permanente and Live Nation.

Proceeds from the concert will support immediate needs in the Californian city and aid long-term recovery from the recent wildfires that resulted in the deaths of at least 29 people and ravaged more than 57,000 acres of land.

More than 50 million people are said to have watched the event as over 30 artists performed at the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum.

The money raised from FireAid, which was streamed across 28 platforms, came from ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and donations from the public.

Private gifts were also donated from the Azoff family, the Eagles, Andrew Hauptman and Ellen Bronfman Hauptman, and U2.

The contributions made to FireAid in connection with the concerts will be distributed through Los Angeles-based non-profit the Annenberg Foundation. The first phase of grants are expected to be awarded by mid-February.
