Blue Man Group have played their final off-Broadway show after a New York run lasting more than three decades.

The trio of blue-painted performers bid farewell to Astor Place Theatre some 34 years after their first show. Blue Man Group, which was taken over by Cirque du Soleil in 2017, have played almost 18,000 performances during their New York run.

Blue Man Group are now set for a long-term residency at their new home in Florida from this April. The group will be based at a 500-seat theatre in ICON Park, the 20-acre entertainment destination in the heart of Orlando’s entertainment district.

The Grammy Award-nominated act played their final New York show on February 2 after entertaining hundreds of thousands of fans since their 1991 debut. The 90-minute show at the 200-seat Astor Place Theatre features art, music, comedy and technology. Those attending would be entertained by three cobalt-painted, bald, speechless men banging on PVC pipes and cereal boxes among other things.

As well as the Orlando switch, productions will continue to run internationally, including Berlin, Boston and Las Vegas. The trio made their debut in Tokyo, Japan in 2024.
