Organisers of the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games have claimed that a record figure of nearly 300,000 tickets have been sold for the event.
After tickets were put on sale last week (February 6), high demand was seen across Italy and several international markets.
Fans from the United States, Germany, and the UK had the highest number of ticket registrations before tickets were made available.
“The first phase of ticket sales for Milano Cortina 2026 has been an overwhelming success,” read a Milan Cortina 2026 statement.
“Nearly 300,000 tickets were purchased in just six days, with tickets distributed across Italy and international markets, averaging seven tickets per buyer. These extraordinary numbers reflect the tremendous enthusiasm and anticipation for the Winter Olympic Games, both from Italian fans and the global audience.
“The high demand has led to limited ticket availability in recent hours, in line with the seating capacities of the competition venues. But don’t worry: tickets are not sold out yet! Additional sales phases are planned to ensure everyone has the chance to experience the magic of the Olympics live.”
A new general sales window for the Olympic events is due to open from February 25 to 27.
The Games are due to run from February 6-22 next year in what is set to be Italy’s third hosting of the Winter Olympics.
The Winter Paralympic Games will follow from March 6-15, 2026 and tickets will be available from March this year.
