Massive Attack against climate change
Massive Attack (pictured) will power their performance at East London’s new LIDO Festival by battery, in a bid to reduce carbon emissions and local air pollution. It will be the band’s first London show in nine years. The performance follows on from Massive Attack’s previous environmental efforts, which saw them perform their Act 1.5 decolonisation show.
Boomtown
Continuing the theme of climate action, festival Boomtown is set to power one of its stages solely by hydrogen in what it claims is a UK first. The Hydro stage at this summer’s event will be powered by hydrogen fuel cell generators which Boomtown and partner Hydrologiq said produce clean, emission-free electricity, only emitting water vapour as a by-product.

SumUp partners with The O2
Fintech firm SumUp has been appointed the official payment processor for The O2 in London. The multi-year deal was brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, and covers supply of payment processing on-site including SumUp’s point-of-sale solutions and self-service kiosks. The partnership will also include sponsorship of payment processing across the arena. SumUp will dovetail with American Express, which is the preferred method of payment at The O2.
Fanxp launches Dataxp
Fanxp has announced the creation of Dataxp, an entity dedicated to data management and utilisation in the sports and entertainment industry. Constance Fouquet will lead Dataxp as partner and chief executive. Fanxp provides an integrated ecosystem of digital solutions for sports and entertainment, combining platforms for advanced ticketing management, a multi-product front office to enhance customer experience, a payment and financial tracking system and a mobile app.
